Dwarfcraft Devices Unveil Gold Standard Eau Claire Thunder Pedal
Dwarfcraft Devices has released a new version of their flagship distortion pedal called the Gold Standard Eau Claire Thunder. The pedal, which is limited to 72 units, offers a streamlined interface as well as “germanium diodes and NOS Fairchild 2n5133 transistors for a vintage Muff vibe.”
“The pedal includes the modifications most often requested by touring musicians: a smaller enclosure, top mounted jacks, and no feedback circuit,” the company writes. “As always, the Timewarp toggle controls a clipping diode and the Toneblast switch bypasses the Tone control for more volume and fuller frequency response. The use of NOS transistors also decreased the gain, making this version of the circuit warmer, a little more “wooly,” and somewhat more versatile than the balls-out OG Thunder.”
Hear the pedal on bass at the 3:45 mark in this demo:
The Dwarfcraft Devices Gold Standard Eau Claire Thunder Pedal is available now for $229.
