Aclam Guitars Announces Dr. Robert Overdrive Pedal
Barcelona’s Aclam Guitars has introduced a new overdrive pedal for bass and guitar called Dr. Robert. Named after the famous Beatles song, the pedal features artwork by Klaus Voorman, who designed the band’s Revolver cover. It is also based on a vintage amp from the same era.
“Dr. Robert is a guitar & bass overdrive pedal based on the normal channel of the Vox UL730 S/N 3042,” the company writes. “Aclam has been working through a meticulous process of tracing the original tag board circuits & measuring all components with the goal of capturing the amp’s soul and character.”
The pedal has a Mach Schau! function that adds extra saturation. It has Mids, Gain, and Volume knobs with internal Bass and Treble controls. You can hear the pedal on bass around the 10-minute mark in this demo:
The Aclam Guitars Dr. Robert is built in Barcelona, Spain. It is shipping worldwide with an approximate U.S. price of $320.
