New Squier Classic Vibe Basses Debut at Summer NAMM

Squier Classic Vibe Basses

Fender launched nine new models to its Squier Classic Vibe series at the 2019 Summer NAMM Show. That includes four new basses: the Classic Vibe ’50s Precision Bass, the Classic Vibe ’70s Precision Bass, the Classic Vibe ’60s Mustang Bass, and the Classic Vibe Jaguar Bass. Each of the basses takes their cues from vintage models.

“A celebration of the birth of the P Bass in the early 1950s, the Classic Vibe ’50s Precision Bass produces massive tone courtesy of its Fender-Designed alnico split-coil pickup,” the company writes. Similarly, the ’70s version embodies the ’70s evolution of the P Bass with a Fender-Designed alnico split-coil. Both basses have headstock markings from their respective era and color schemes to match.

The new Mustang bass has a 30-inch short scale length with a slim “C”-shaped neck for comfort. It comes in Olympic White and Surf Green with an Indian Laurel fingerboard inlaid with white dots. Its Fender-Designed alnico Mustang pickup is controlled with volume and tone controls.

Finally, the Classic Vibe Jaguar is fitted with a P/J pickup set. It has ’70s-inspired headstock markings, nickel-plated hardware, and a vintage-tint gloss neck finish.

All of the new Squier Classic Vibe basses were debuted at the Summer NAMM Show. They will all carry street prices of $349.99.

  1. I’m glad there’s a short scale back in the Squire lineup with the Mustang, but I still miss the VM Jaguar short scale.

Thank you Squier for short scales ! … and in surf green.. it is already Christmas… :)

Crossing my fingers for some lefty models! In something other than black or sunburst…. Ha
A lefty mustang in sea foam green would be so great, but I’d snatch any one of these up in a second.

The Jaguar actually has a 32″ scale. I love me a medium scale. Gorgeous!
