Cort Announces the GB74 Gig Bass Guitar

Cort GB74 Gig Bass

Cort has expanded its GB74 line of basses with the BG74 Gig Bass, which the company says offers “ultimate sonic versatility.” That’s due to its unique pickup configuration, which covers the three main types of bass pickups.

“The GB74 Gig incorporates the sounds of the humbucker, J-style single-coil and P-style split-coil to offer bass players the ultimate sonic versatility,” they write. “From meaty and powerful tones to clear and smooth character, the GB74 Gig delivers both classic and modern bass sounds, packaged in a sleek profile with Lake Placid Blue finish and chrome hardware.”

The Multitone bridge humbucker is half humbucker and half single-coil with a three-way toggle to select the coils separately or together for a bigger sound. The VTB-P pickup is mixed in with a balancer knob while a passive tone control offers more tonal tweaking. Other features include an Omega bridge, an alder body, and a Canadian hard maple neck.

The Cort GB74 Gig will be available soon with a street price of $599.99.
