Boss Announces DD-3T and DD-8 Delay Pedals

Boss DD-3T and DD-8 Delay Pedals

Boss has expanded its line of digital delays with two new units: the DD-3T and DD-8. Each of the pedals replaces the company’s previous units (the DD-3 and DD-7, respectively) by adding new features to their palette.

The DD-3T retains the same circuitry as the DD-3 while adding tap tempo. Users can use the onboard pedal switch to input tempos or utilize an external footswitch for instant control. “The DD-3T also features a dedicated direct output like the DD-3, which allows users to send effect-only and dry sounds to separate destinations. On the DD-3T, this output has been moved next to the main output jack to make pedalboard connections easier,” Boss explains.

The DD-8 adds more delay types including clean digital delays, vintage analog, and tape types, modulation echo, shimmer, and reverse. A new feature is the Warm setting for softer echo tones as well as the +RV type which offers glitchy rhythmic effects. “Warp is perfect for dynamic ambient textures, while the new GLT type provides glitchy rhythmic effects,” they write. “A Looper mode is even included, with up to 40 seconds of recording time and unlimited overdub capability.” Other features include full stereo I/O with three different output modes – Independent, Panning, and Wide Stereo Mode – and a carryover switch for setting whether delay trails continue or stop when the pedal is bypassed.

The Boss DD-3T and DD-8 will be available soon with price points of $139.99 and $159.99.
