Cort Announces A5 Plus SC Bass
Cort Guitars has added to their Artisan series with the A5 Plus SC. The new bass carries many of the same features of the A5 Plus SCMS but has a standard 34-inch scale instead of a multi-scale design.
The singlecut bass is built with a swamp ash body topped with poplar burl, a five-piece maple and panga panga neck, and a panga panga fretboard. Its top is a change from the SCMS, which has utilizes spalted maple.
“The new poplar burl top not only beautifies the already great looking bass but adds well-balanced sonic characteristics in combination with swamp ash body for a bright and punchy modern sound.”
Cort fits it with Hipshot hardware as well as a pair of Bartolini MK-1 and a corresponding preamp. It will be available this year with an MSRP of $1,499.99.
