Alusonic Announces QuadraFleX Pickup and Hybrid Bass

Alusonic QuadraFleX 4 Bass

Italy’s Alusonic has unveiled a new pickup called the QuadraFleX 4 as well as a new bass model for it. The new instrument revolves around the pickup’s unique mode selection that lets you pick between five pickup modes: Single Bridge Side, Split-Coil Reverse, Split-Coil, Single Neck Side, and Humbucker.

“We developed a new bass model with this pickup starting from the acclaimed Alusonic Django Deluxe design, [which] is made with a chambered Alder or Swamp Ash body with an Aluminium or Carbon Fiber top glued together to provide an extremely rigid but at the same time very light body,” Alusonic writes, adding the bass weighs about 7.9 pounds.

Its neck is hard maple reinforced with graphite rods. The fretboard is Graphitex, a composite compound mixed with graphite. “All the parts and hardware are handmade by Alusonic, we offer Schaller style or Hipshot Utralites tuning machines,” the company writes.

You can hear the bass and the new pickup in this video, which showcases it in several styles:

I wish more Basses took advantage of technology like this. One pickup FIVE different sounds!!!! I know Fishman does some similar stuff but this is cooler looking to me!

Does it come with corona virus?

I’d love to see a double pickup version, with one nearer the classic Stingray position. You could potentially cover all bases (basses?) and coax sounds similar to the triumvirate of P, J and MM basses, not to mention a world of other unthought of pickup combinations.

  4. This video plays a bunch of different songs that don’t really show what this pickup does,a waste of time imo
