Squier Introduces Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54
Squier has unveiled the Paranormal series, which brings a handful of vintage Fender models back to life as well as creating some new models. The series includes one bass called the Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54, which seems to be a take on Fender’s Parallel Universe line by blending aspects of their flagship designs.
“The Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 turns fiction into reality, combining the easy playability and tonal versatility of the J Bass with the classic looks of its older sibling, the 1954 Precision Bass,” the company writes. “This bass is easy to play thanks to its “C”-shaped neck profile and narrow 1.5” nut width and offers out-of-this-world tone courtesy of its dual Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups.”
Available in White Blonde or Butterscotch Blonde, the bass is also fitted with vintage-style hardware, a ’50s-style pickguard, and dual concentric volume and tone controls. The Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 is will be shipping in late summer or early fall with a street price of $399.99.
