Fender Announces Roasted Maple Vintera ’50s Precision Bass Neck
Fender introduced the vintage-styled Vintera series last year to pay homage to the instruments from their first three decades as a company. Now they’re offering roasted necks from the series as a separate component.
“Crafted in the same [Ensenada, Mexico] factory as our Vintera Series instruments, these necks match classic looks with a modern feel for today’s player,” Fender writes. “There’s no denying the allure of a roasted maple neck. Resistant to humidity shifts and featuring a gorgeous, dark look, they have more sustain and add a unique note to the instrument’s voice.”
The new line includes one bass neck, which is taken from the Vintera ’50s Precision bass. The neck features 20 vintage frets, a 7.25″ fretboard radius, and a “C” profile shape. It has a pre-slotted synthetic bone nut and a vintage-style truss rod for adjustment. Finally, Fender gives it a gloss urethane finish on the fingerboard and headstock face with a satin finish on the back of the neck.
“Because Fender genuine replacement necks have not been mounted to guitar bodies, nut slots must be cut by qualified personnel,” Fender explains. “Other installation processes may be required, such as fret work, fitting the neck to the neck pocket, and other instrument setup procedures.”
The Fender Roasted Maple Vintera ’50s Precision Bass Neck is available now for $399.99.
