David Bowie: Carmine Rojas’s Isolated Bass on “Let’s Dance”
1983 was definitely a good year. A shift in music was happening. David Bowie and Nile Rodgers hooked up to produce one of the biggest records of the 80s, Let’s Dance. The late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan played the guitar solo on the track.
I came across the isolated bass track, which features bassist Carmine Rojas – who was the bassist from ’83 to ’87. The track is also layered with synth bass, adding that extra weight. I love the tone coming from the bass used on the track as well.
