Matthew Garrison Launches New App

Matthew Garrison App

Matthew Garrison has just launched a fantastic new app for learning from the bassist. The app is described as a “living and evolving archive of the creative works of Matthew Garrison.”

“You will find past albums, new albums, audio, and video content, music charts, and scores, lessons and live streams all in one place that will be continuously updated as Matthew develops more content,” the Shapeshifter Productions website explains. “You will also find special collaborative projects that Matthew regularly engages in.”

Among the cool features is the ability to view and listen to a song from Garrison’s catalog with all the musicians who participated in the album. In selecting a song, you can display alternate clips to hear the song with different bass players like Linda Oh, Mike Pope, and DJ Ginyard. You can also isolate parts of Garrison’s songs to practice.

“I call it a living, breathing archive of my work as a creative human being. It has been my desire to launch a platform, not just a new recording,” Garrison writes. “Now I can do both! Many incredible people have participated in making this project come alive but in particular, I have to thank my business partner Fortuna Sung for believing in it since day 1 and not letting go of the idea that it could work. We’ve been through hell and heaven + everything in between to get this off the ground, so this is an important first step for us in the world of software development.”

The Matt Garrison App is available now from the Apple Store. It’s free to download with in-app purchases available.
