Squier Brings Back the Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54
Squier’s Paranormal Series is back for 2021 and they’ve retained one bass in the lineup. The Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 blends the company’s two flagship bass models into one.
“The Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 turns fiction into reality, combining the easy playability and tonal versatility of the J Bass with the classic looks of its older sibling, the Precision Bass (around 1954, the P Bass transitioned from a slab body to a contoured body),” they write.
Squier now offers it in a three-color sunburst with a vintage-style pickguard or a black finish with a 1-ply gold anodized aluminum pickguard. Its pickups are Fender-designed alnico single-coils controlled by dual concentric volume and tone controls. Other features include a vintage-style bridge and tuners.
The Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass ’54 will be shipping in October with a price point of $429.
