Ismael Alcina: Casilda

Ismael Alcina sent in his latest video, which is a bass arrangement for Paco de Lucia’s “Casilda”. The song, which was released on the 1987 album Siroco, originally had no bass part. Here, Alcina adds a wonderful complementary bass line that outlines the chords and doubles the melody at points.

“‘Casilda’ is based on the flamenco rhythm ‘tanguillo’, which is typical of Cadiz folklore,” the bassist adds.
