Made In Sweden: Our Man
I’m not even sure how I stumbled onto this clip, but I’m glad I did. This performance of “Our Man” by Made In Sweden is from the band’s later years, which actually featured a Finnish rhythm section of drummer Vesa Aaltonen and bassist Pekka Pohjola.
The song is a late ’70s prog-rock excursion that builds from a mysterious atmosphere into a heavy groove. Pohjola dishes out a sweet bass line complete with double stops, but the composition evolves into his solo as its centerpiece. His creative lines and harmonic stretching in the solo would fit in a modern song just as much as this track from 45 years ago.
