Napalm Death Releases “Resentment is Always Seismic” EP

Napalm Death: Resentment is Always Seismic - a final throw of ThroesUK grindcore heroes Napalm Death have returned with an eight-song mini-album called Resentment is Always Seismic – a final throw of Throes. Vocalist Barry Greenway points out that it is a natural extension of their 2020 release, Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism.

“We had long since wanted to put a mini-album out – in the spirit of the old days – and found we had enough quality tracks even after all the ‘Throes…’ bonus tracks to do that,” he says. “Hopefully this mini holds some nice twists in its own right for people, and certainly covering “People Pie” by Slab! made us really stretch ourselves, which feels great artistically. In the end, resentment is certainly seismic – it can trigger the complete erosion of humanity in many situations. That was the point that I really wanted to hammer home overall.”

Shane Embury’s shredding bass lines continue to be a foundation of the band’s sound, starting with the opening track, “Narcissus,” which begins with his heavily distorted tone. He also gave the song “Resentment Always Simmers” a remix to create the EP’s closer, “Resentment is Always Seismic (Dark Sky Burial Dirge”). Hear both below:
