Napalm Death’s Shane Embury Goes Deep on Debut Solo Album “Bridge to Resolution”

After nearly forty years in the grindcore outfit Napalm Death, bassist Shane Embury has announced his debut solo album. Bridge to Resolution marks his most personal recording to date while exploring new textures.

Embury started writing the album during the pandemic, explaining it is about addiction, mental issues, and life. The album description explains that it covers many of the topics from his 2023 autobiography, Life? …And Napalm Death.

“This album is a very special album – those closest to me know it’s been a struggle on many levels for me these past few years!” he shared on Facebook. “It’s life but we all have that chance to be the best versions of ourselves for those we truly love .. this album lyrically dives into the darkness but in the darkness we can reach towards the light.”

Sonically, it’s a much different approach than what Embury is known for, with influcnes of Cocteau Twins, Killing Joke, and The Mission showing through. Blabbermouth calls it a “contemplative and expansive set of songs built around Embury’s use of synthesizers, guitars, bass and layered vocals.”

Hear Embury’s new sound on the first single, “Spasm Prayer.”

Bridge to Resolution will be released on June 26th, 2026 on CD, vinyl, and as a digital download. Until then, Embury will be on a tour discussing his book with bassist and journalist Joel McIver.
