Dave Matthews Band is currently on tour, but they’ll be hitting the road again this fall with dates in the U.S. and Canada. DMB continues to be anchored by the great Stefan Lessard, who has been dishing out bass lines for the band since he was 16.

In this “Keep It Groovy” lesson, Ryan Madora discuss how to improvise a simple groove with just two notes. By playing a note multiple times, adding in dead notes, or creating a “note sandwich,” we can start simple and slowly add in the funk.

Freekbass has announced a marathon of a livestream on his Twitch channel. The Freekbass SubBassAThon will be a 24-hour event that the funk bassist will be doing totally live on Saturday, September 17th.

The fusion pioneering band Yellowjackets has released “Parallel Motion,” marking the 27th album in their 41 years as a group. The album includes bassist Dane Alderson, who joined the band in 2015.

Inspiration can strike from anywhere if you’re open to it. That’s just what happened to Lenny Robert of Daddy Mojo Electrics, and it led to the creation of this cool version of his BeeKay bass model.

Last in Line has unveiled a set of tour dates to support their upcoming EP, “A Day In The Life.” The band, which was originally formed by former members of Dio, features Andrew Freeman, Vivian Campbell, Vinny Appice, and Phil Soussan.

Ruokangas made history in 2019 by introducing the first tube-powered active pickup system for guitars. Now they’ve announced the Valvebucker Mk2, which expands the concept to their four and five-string basses.

The Funky Knuckles have dropped a new video for their song “Next One,” which originally appeared on 2012’s “As Of Lately.” Composed by bassist Wes Stephenson, the 10-minute jam grooves with rich textures and outstanding solos.
