Ibanez Introduces Five-String Electric Upright Bass

Ibanez got into the electric upright bass game in 2018 with the Upswing. Now they’ve added to the series with a five-string model called the UB805.
Similar to the UB804, the UB805 has a 34-inch scale, which is the same as a standard electric bass. The company says the similar proportions allow one to move more easily between upright and electric.
With the exception of the low B string, the UB805 carries many of the same design features, including a maple body, jatoba fingerboard, and a custom AeroSilk piezo pickup system. Ibanez throws in a custom TAMA Roadpro stand and gig bag for good measure.
The Ibanez UB805 five-string electric upright bass will carry a street price of $1,249.
