Renaud Garcia-Fons: Happy Alone

Renaud Garcia-Fons never fails to amaze me. “Happy Alone” is a solo double bass piece that will be on his upcoming record Cinematic Double Bass, and it lives up to the album’s title. The song features his impressive pizzicato work as he lays down a continuous quarter note and then simultaneously plays a pensive melody.

Close your eyes, and you can see a movie unfolding in the music.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast.
