Pink Floyd’s groundbreaking album Dark Side of the Moon turned 50 this month and musicians around the world are paying homage. That includes Gov’t Mule, who has announced a tour called “Dark Side of the Mule,” which will bring their tribute show to 12 cities. They first performed a Pink Floyd show at the Orpheum Theatre back in 2008.

“This all started so organically with what we thought would be a one-time Halloween performance,” shares Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule front man and guitarist. “Since then, Dark Side of the Mule has grown into something else. It’s a blast to perform this material but our intent is to do it for one final tour in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dark Side. Don’t miss it!”

The band, anchored by Jorgen Carlsson, will kick things off in Atlantic City on July 22nd and work their way out to Colorado and back to the East Coast. The final “Dark Side” date is scheduled for August 19th in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Gov’t Mule will be joined on the trek by Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, featuring Dorian Heartsong filling the large shoes of John Paul Jones. The Mule’s full 2023 itinerary is listed below.
