Tony Senatore: George Harrison Medley on 12-String Bass Bass

The first videos we ever shared by Tony Senatore were from his incredible DVD, A 12 String Bass X-Ploration. Now he’s returned to the beastly instrument to share a gorgeous medley of two George Harrison songs.

The arrangement begins with “Love You To” from the 1966 Beatles album Revolver before evolving into “Your Love Is Forever” from the guitarist’s 1979 solo album. Senatore’s 12-string naturally creates a large sonic footprint reminiscent of the Indian drones that Harrison was known to love.

Don’t just take it from us: bass legend Steve Swallow shared his thoughts on Senatore’s playing.

“Tony Senatore is a selfless, supportive ensemble bassist, just the guy you’d want behind you on the bandstand. But when he picks up the 12-string bass, he steps forward and sings his own song,” he wrote. “These tunes may be George Harrison’s, but the voice you’re hearing could only be Tony’s. We’re all very lucky that he and the 12’ver found each other.”
