Schecter Launches New Simon Gallup Signature Basses

The Cure’s Simon Gallup was seen road-testing some new basses during their recent summer tour, and now Schecter has unveiled the new signature basses to their lineup. Gallup’s new axes include a new look for the Ultra Spitfire and a new semi-hollow model called the Corsair. Each bass has a red finish with a black lion graphic across the body.

Schecter Simon Gallup Signature Ultra Spitfire Bass

The Ultra Spitfire retains the features of his previous models with a mahogany body, maple and walnut neck, and rosewood fingerboard. It is still fitted with two EMG TBHZ pickups with passive electronics and a Volume/Volume/Tone control configuration.

Schecter Simon Gallup Signature Corsair Bass

The Corsair’s semi-hollow body is made from maple with a matching three-piece maple neck. Its ebony fingerboard is adorned with Pearloid Blocks as markers across its 20 narrow jumbo frets. It’s also fitted with the EMG TBHZ pickups, though the Corsair has an active 2-band EQ for more tonal control. Other features include cream multi-ply binding, Schecter light-weight tuners, and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stopbar tailpiece.

The Schecter Simon Gallup Ultra Spitfire is out now with a street price of $1,249, while the Corsair is available for $1,499.

Any particular reason why the Corsair doesn’t have the quote from Coppi on the back?
