Lane, Gregorius, and O’Bryan Smith Release “Emergence”
The trio of Brannan Lane, John Gregorius, and bassist Sean O’Bryan Smith have teamed up to release Emergence, an eight-song collection that explores ambient soundscapes and textures. The record is a masterclass in setting a mood as each player used the colors of their tone to “paint” the atmosphere.
O’Bryan Smith is a renowned bassist and producer who’s recorded with over 100 artists globally. As such, his experience informs his use of subtle grooves to add direction to the music. Bassists will take note of his fretless work, which adds emotional depth on tracks like “Dawn” and “Shadows in Motion,” as well as his flawless tone.
