Bass of the Week: Novacorda Guitars 5-String Hollow Body

Novacorda Guitars 5-string Hollow Body Bass

This week, we’re checking out a killer bass put together by Novacorda Guitars. Luthier Mete Cem Kuzu shared this on their Facebook page, saying, “This bass is a part of the Project Wormhole on Facebook. I have been fortunate enough to build more than one of these, and this one was not only challenging but also a blast to build and finish.”

The bass is made with a new old stock (NOS) Höfner body from 1968 that’s been fitted with a 2-piece flame maple neck with a wenge stripe. Its ziricote fingerboard is a dark contrast against the body’s white finish and fluorescent orange hardware pieces, which glow in the dark. There are also lights fitted inside the body with an on/off switch as well as a rotary selector for lighting effects. A USB interface allows for charging the integrated battery.

Other features include Heavy Horse pickups, Hipshot Ultralite tuners, and a 34-inch scale.
