Schecter Introduces Charles Berthoud Signature Bass

Schecter Charles Berthoud CB-4 Signature Bass

Bass virtuoso and YouTube sensation Charles Berthoud has teamed up with Schecter for a new signature bass. The CB-4, which comes in right and left-handed versions, features an ash body, a flamed maple top, a walnut and padauk neck with carbon fiber reinforcements, and a rosewood fingerboard.

While Berthoud is known for his mind-blowing technical prowess, he worked with Schecter to infuse his style while making it versatile. “I wanted it to reflect my style and personality, but at the same time I didn’t want it to feel like you were playing someone else’s bass,” he says.

The CB-4 is built for agility with a deep cutaway to reach the highest frets and a thin neck for fast playing.

Other features include a pair of EMG 35HZ pickups with a 3-band EMG B64 preamp, Grover tuners, and a Schecter Diamond Custom bridge.

Berthoud dropped a video explaining all of his design choices as well as a performance of the song “Elevated” to introduce the axe.

The Schecter CB-4 will be shipping in the next few months with street prices of $1,499 for the righty version and $1,549 for the lefty.
