Ashdown Introduces Affordable Roasted Series Basses At NAMM 2024
Ashdown is most known for their bass amplifiers and pedals, but in 2020, it introduced a line of bass guitars. This year at NAMM, they unveiled the next generation of their basses with the Roasted Series. The lineup includes four basses with a roasted maple neck and fingerboard with matching headstocks.
The lineup sees the return of the Saint, which boasts a P/J pickup configuration with a J-style neck. It comes in Blue Metallic, Onyx Green Metallic, and Shell Pink Metallic. Next up is the Saint Soap, which has the same features as the Saint but swaps in a single soap bar pickup. This, Ashdown says, offers vintage tones without the vintage price tag.
The Capri shares the same body shape and pickup as the Saint Soap but is a smaller sibling with a short 30-inch scale.
Finally, the Low Rider is a bass inspired by The Who’s John Entwistle. Finished in Satin Black, it has a pair of oversized humbuckers for a “thunderous tone worthy of its inspiration.”
The Ashdown Roasted Series will be coming soon. The models’ price points are approximately $314 for the Roasted Capri, $323 for the Roasted Saint Soap, and $377 for both the Roasted Saint and the Roasted Low Rider.

Wow, I must be losin’ it. Ah yes, age? Took a few read thru’s to figure out why it was called “Saint Soap”. I’m all ‘does it keep ya clean?’ Does it smell like Irish Spring? The tone blast away them sins?’
LOL! Yeah, it’s referencing the p/u’s Duh!
That said, I dig the almost Reverend vibe while offering a great price. May have to test drive one locally. Good job Ashdown! ???
