Cort Announces the Artisan Space 5 Headless Bass
Cort Guitars has introduced the Artisan Space 5, a five-string bass that revives their headless line of instruments from the 1980s. The modernistic bass brings contemporary features and enhancements to the mix, of course.
Its maple body has a solid poplar burl top, while the seven-piece maple, walnut, and purpleheart neck is fitted with a roasted hard maple fretboard. “The gorgeous wood grain enhances the eye-catching body and neck shape (with distinctive ‘Next Gen’ Cort logo engraved just beneath the upper cutaway), modeled after the flagship Artisan Bass Series, while the deeper contour and cutaways along with individual bridge with tuner knobs are significant upgrades.”
The Space 5 sports a pair of Bartolini MK-1 pickups with an active 3-band EQ. Other appointments include a zero fret, individual string bridges, and a specially designed headpiece.
The Cort Artisan Space 5 will have a street price of $799.99.
