Ernie Ball Music Man Unveils 2024 DarkRay Collection

Music Man has revamped the DarkRay for 2024 with two new finishes for both the four- and five-string models. The bass, crafted in partnership with Darkglass Electronics, will come in Dark Rainbow and Gold Bar colorways.

They will retain the rest of the model’s features, including a custom 2-band preamp crafted by Darkglass with three modes: Clean, Alpha (Distortion), and Omega (fuzz). It has onboard gain and blend controls for dialing in your grit while retaining your low end. The modes are selected with a three-way lever switch and identified by an LED ring to visually show which mode you’re on.
Other features include a select hardwood body, a roasted maple neck, an ebony fingerboard (roasted maple for Gold Bar finish), 22 stainless steel frets, and a neodymium humbucker.
The Ernie Ball Music Man DarkRay is available now for $2,899.
