Consider the Source: Mouthbreather
Consider the Source has returned with their first new single in years. “Mouthbreather” is a monstrous headbanger that marks the first release from an exciting upcoming album.
“During the height of the 2020 pandemic instrumental trio Consider the Source hunkered up with famed Dream Theater ‘Images & Words’ Producer David Prater to work on an album together,” the song’s description states. “Today the band shared the first video single from that session entitled ‘Mouthbreather’ which showcases a return to their progressive rock and heavy side. The video filmed and produced by longtime band collaborator Kris Reznik showcases their renowned instrumental skill with the band set in front of an all white cyc wall. Mouthbreather adds heavy grooves and psychedelic sounds to the band’s adventurous Eastern prog rock sound.”
Of course, bassist John Ferrara is bringing the heat with some intense bass work with slapping and tapping over the heavy math metal madness. He also manipulates a Moog Taurus pedal system to build a huge sound for the three-piece band.
Consider the Source’s new album, The Stare, will be released on September 13th. It’s available for pre-order now through Bandcamp.
