After moving away from the brand in 2022, Pantera bassist Rex Brown has officially rejoined Spector’s artist roster. The company announced they will collaborate on new signature models for 2025.

“Spector Basses have been a staple of my sound since ’93!” Brown said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play ‘em and beat the hell out of ‘em for all of these years! The tonal mixtures of their basses have grown into legend. I couldn’t be happier to come back to Spector after all these years, a company on the cutting edge of brilliance!”

Spector Custom Shop Artist Relations manager Taylor McLam added, “Rex Brown and Pantera changed heavy music forever, becoming icons in the metal genre. Spector basses were instrumental in achieving the band’s signature sound, which makes it fitting to officially welcome him back. I’m excited to see what we can create as we head into 2025.”

Brown will have the basses on hand as Pantera returns to the road with a month-long European tour. The quartet – now consisting of Brown, singer Phil Anselmo, guitarist Zakk Wylde, and drummer Charlie Benante – will then support Metallica during North American dates through the spring.

We’ll keep you updated with Brown’s new Spector basses as they are announced.

Former bassist ( Fender), I’ve re-discovered the bottom end thru the Spector bassist. I’m sure you know Alehandra Villaneuva of the Warning , who plays your 5 string, and her work on the bottom has turned my thinking around
