Spector Launches Doug Wimbish Euro 4, Modeled After His Original 1987 NS-2 Bass

Doug Wimbish with Spector Euro 4 Signature Amber Gloss

Earlier this year, we reported that Spector had revealed a new Doug Wimbish Euro 4 at the 2025 NAMM Show. The company has now officially launched the bass, which they call an “inspired evolution of Doug’s iconic 1987 NS-2.” His personal bass was also the inspiration for the 2024 USA Signature Series, and the Euro version follows suit.

Central to the design is a signature slim neck profile and a narrower nut width for faster playing and extra comfort. It’s also fitted with custom-voiced EMG pickups that Wimbish himself helped to develop.

“My Spector Euro 4 Signature Model is absolutely stunning – visually, sonically and with the feel of my original ’87 NS-2 Spector 4-String,” states Wimbish. “The stars aligned on this new model – everything came together. I knew instantly when I played the first note on this model that we had a winner! I couldn’t be happier – what a wonderful instrument.”

The Wimbish Euro 4 is crafted with a maple top, maple body wings, and a rosewood fingerboard inlaid with Spector’s mother-of-pearl crowns. Other features include gold hardware and a Spector Legacy Preamp.

The Spector Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Signature is available now in Amber Gloss, Black Gloss, and Limited Aged Nitro finishes. It carries a street price of $3,499 for the Amber and Black, while the limited Nitro finish goes for $3,699.
