Dropkick Murphys Hit the Road for “For the People,” a Fierce Return to Punk Roots

Dropkick Murphys have dropped a new album called For The People, and they’re ready to bring it to the people. The record, which is streaming now with physical copies coming October 10th, is described as going back to the band’s earliest punk rock roots and speaking up against injustices.
“For The People is more than a title. It’s a heartfelt stance, a declaration of who this band is – and who they’ve always been. Whether writing about politics, family, friends or simply ‘life’ on For The People, the stories run deep, the memories push hard, and the joy remains infectious,” a press release explains. “To drive the message home further, For The People is accompanied by an album cover created by renowned social/political artist Shepard Fairey’s design firm Studio Number One and depicts a black rose, symbolizing change, renewal, new beginnings, courage, confidence, strength and power.”
Dropkick Murphys are fronted by Ken Casey, who tackles lead vocals and bass in the studio. Live bassist Kevin Rheault also contributed to the new album and is featured in the video for the album’s first single, “Who’ll Stand With Us?”
The Celtic punk rockers will be on tour for the majority of 2025 with dates in North America and Europe from July to November. Check out the full dates below. For the People is streaming now on Apple Music and more with CD and vinyl editions available for pre-order.
