Khruangbin Marks 10 Years of “The Universe Smiles Upon You” With Intimate 2025 U.S. Tour

Laura Lee plays her new Fender Jazz Bass in a Khruangbin session, showing off the tone, feel, and design behind her signature model.

It’s been ten years since Khruangbin released their debut album, The Universe Smiles Upon You, and they’re ready to celebrate in style. The Texas-based trio has announced a 15-date tour that will take them from coast to coast of the United States.

The run will kick off on November 11th with two nights in their hometown of Houston, Texas before covering the mid-Atlantic and sweeping west. Although they have been playing amphitheaters, the upcoming tour will see them in more intimate clubs and venues. They’ll wrap things up with two nights at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The Universe Smiles Upon You introduced the world to Khruangbin’s funky, vintage, instrumental sound with tracks like “People Everywhere (Still Alive)” and “White Gloves.” It also propelled bassist Laura Lee into the spotlight. Her rock-solid grooves and rich tone contribute significantly to Khruangbin’s unique vibe.

Check out their performance of “People Everywhere” from Austin City Limits in 2021 to see how they’ve evolved one of their earliest songs.
