Peavey has brought back a piece of their history by relaunching the Super Festival Series. The new lineup includes the F-1200B bass amp head and a matching cab, the Super Festival Series 610 Bass Enclosure.

“Renowned for its stellar, overdriven bass tone, the Super Festival Series features a classic retro look with features modernized for today’s bass playing settings,” the company writes.

The F-1200B amp is based on the F-800B head from 1971, but brings the design into the 21st century. The 1200-watt amp features discrete BJT (bipolar junction transistor) preamp circuitry that’s been voiced by Hartley Peavey himself. It has a three-band EQ as well as a preset Slope that users can adjust internally. “Like the original F-800B, the F-1200B has a six-band inductive EQ circuit that divides into six segments, each controlling a specific band of frequencies,” Peavey adds.

The amp has two inputs, with Input Jack 1 having twice the gain of Input Jack 2. Below the volume control is a one-knob overdrive section to dial in old-school grit. The F-1200B’s rear panel has a USB-C recording interface, dual TRS footswitch jacks (Mute, Boost, Overdrive, and Effects Loop), a headphone output, an effects loop, and a full DI output.

Also rated for 1,200 watts of power, the Super Festival 610 Bass Enclosure is fitted with six parallel-connected 10-inch speakers. It’s built with 15mm plywood construction with extensive cross bracing to tighten up the low end. The retro look is completed with a black vinyl covering, a full-frame fabric grill, and classic metal silver strips.

This is exactly what I need for my new rig

“Iconic” of course but extremely over priced and very heavy to use.
