Les Claypool Announces “Claypool Gold” Tour Featuring Primus, Frog Brigade, and Claypool Lennon Delirium

Les Claypool will be pulling triple duty this year on a new tour dubbed Claypool Gold. The coast-to-coast summer tour will feature the bass phenom performing with three of his beloved bands: Primus, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade.
“Each band will take the stage every night, with unique setlists and surprises in store,” a press release promises.
The tour will kick off on May 20th in Reno, Nevada and run all the way through July 4th, where they’ll celebrate Independence Day in Napa, California at the Meritage Resort. Along the way, they’ll criss-cross the Midwest, East Coast, South, and everywhere in between.
In addition to the tour news, Claypool has released a new song called “WAP (What A Predicament)” with The Claypool Lennon Delirium. The song is described as “A warped meditation on morality, artificial intelligence safety, and the slippery slope of optimization without empathy.”
Lennon recently revealed the group has a new album in the works, making this the first glimpse of the project. According to the guitarist/vocalist, The Great Parrot Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy will be a conceptual double album dealing with the paperclip dilemma.
In other news, Les Claypool will be at the Bass Magazine Awards on January 22nd to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Be sure to check out details if you’re in the area.
