Jon von Boehm Announces New Album Reflections, Shares Urgent New Single “Not Today”

Jon von Boehm Not Today

Jon von Boehm is gearing up for a new album called Reflections, scheduled for March 1st. It will mark his fourth solo effort and, by his own account, his most personal record to date. Based out of Nashville, the bassist’s unique blend of jazz fusion, rock, and cinematic soundscapes is in full effect.

He is offering a preview of the effort with its first single, “Not Today,” which features drummer Marcus Finnie, guitarist Cole Clark, and keyboardist Walter Scott. Beginning with a serene piano motif, the song is pinned together by von Bohem’s active and creative lines. A sense of anticipation builds as the song unfolds.

“‘Not Today’ was the first song I wrote for the album, and it really set the direction for everything that followed,” he tells us. “I wanted it to feel urgent but open, leaving room for the band to speak. Marcus Finnie brings so much momentum on drums, Cole Clark and Walt Scott push the harmony and textures forward, and the second solo on the song I actually played on piccolo bass.”

“Not Today” is streaming now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other platforms.
