Green Day Kick Off Super Bowl LX With ‘American Idiot’ Era Medley

Green Day opened the Super Bowl and didn’t mess around.  It was short, loud, and very Green Day.

Best part for us. Mike Dirnt was out there with the red sparkle Fender P Bass.  Big tone and big presence.  That bass looked great under the lights and it sounded like a Green Day record which is kind of the whole point. Mike was locked in and pushed the songs forward like he always does.

Green Day showed up did their thing and reminded everyone why they are still in top form all these decades in.

I like Green Day, but I thought their appearance at a Super Bowl was almost as weird a decision as having Bad Bunny do the half-time show almost completely in Spanish. I bet that really pissed off any number of people.

I also thought it was interesting that Dirnt played a Fender instead of his new signature Gibson. I can’t name a single Gibson bass that I like, so I thought the Fender was a better choice.
