Bass of the Week: Spector’s One-of-One 50th Anniversary Bass Stuns with Full-Fingerboard Inlay

Spector 50th Anniversary Bass

2026 marks the 50th Anniversary of Spector Basses. In those five decades, much has changed – and much has not. For our bass of the week, we’re checking out a one-of-one bass made by the Spector Custom Shop to honor the company’s legacy.

Built on the NS-5 platform, the bass features neck-through construction with a three-piece maple neck and master-grade maple body wings. It comes in a gold-stained finish to represent Spector’s “golden” anniversary. However, the most striking characteristic is its fingerboard.

“A defining visual element of the bass is its full-fingerboard and headstock inlay, designed in collaboration with Pearl Works, which employs a postcard-and-stamp motif to chronicle Spector’s history,” the company explains. “The inlay artwork spans the entire fingerboard and headstock, illustrating key chapters in the brand’s evolution, from its early Brooklyn years to its present-day home in the Catskills.”

Other features include EMG P/J pickups, the Spector HAZ preamp, and a 35-inch scale. The Spector 50th Anniversary Custom Shop Bass was built as a one-off and not for retail.
