Billy Sheehan in Action: Mr. Big’s “Take Cover” Surfaces from 2009 Japan Show

Mr. Big have released another live clip from their archives, this time sharing a performance of “Take Cover” from a massive 2009 show in Japan.

As always, Billy Sheehan is impossible to miss. He is playing his red Yamaha Attitude signature bass and driving the tune with that unmistakable tone and fearless style. Sheehan moves all over the fretboard while keeping the groove locked in with the late Pat Torpey, giving the song its heavy backbone.

Paul Gilbert is absolutely on fire in this one, ripping through the song with his usual precision while Eric Martin delivers the soaring vocal. The whole band sounds completely dialed in, which is no surprise given how legendary Mr. Big’s Japanese shows have become over the years.

The video was recently released on the band’s official YouTube channel, and it is a great reminder of just how powerful this lineup was on stage.

No Treble CEO Jody Miller is a Chicago-based bassist, guitarist, engineer, and producer best known for his bass gear demo videos and as the co-host of The Bass Nerds podcast.
