Dogstar’s ‘Joy’ Rides a Clean Groove from Bassist Keanu Reeves

Dogstar just dropped “Joy,” their second video in the last couple months, and you can feel things starting to ramp up in antcipation of their headlining tour.  This one has a driving groove and soaring vocals. Kind of a cross between She Wants Revenge and Queens of the Stone Age. It is got that moody pulse and the drums really push it with heavy tom work.

On the low end, Keanu Reeves is on his Fender PJ Bass into the new Gallien-Krueger Legacy RB head and it is all about feel. The sound has to be big in a trio, lots of punch and clarity.  Im not sure if Keanu has an overdrive going here but it definitely has lots of saturation in the tone.

These releases are all part of Dogstar’s current run of new material, and with a tour about to kick off, its perfect timing. Check tour dates HERE.
