MonoNeon Gets Weird With George Clinton on “Tha Dumb Stuff”

MonoNeon and George Clinton Tha Dumb Stuff
MonoNeon is back with another banger featuring George Clinton and Grandma Liz. His new single, “Tha Dumb Stuff,” is described as “the strangest funk jam of the year.”

“Entirely produced by MonoNeon himself, the track highlights his signature mix of off-kilter funk, Southern soul textures, and experimental minimalism — with MonoNeon handling the vocals, the bass, and quirky keyboard and synth arrangements that give the song its strange, magnetic personality,” a press release explains.

The bassist recorded the track in 2022 in Tallahassee, Florida at Clinton’s studio. He later expanded the piece with more layers, including Trey Lewd on backing vocals and TaRon Lockett on drums. The song marks another collaboration with the Parliament Funkadelic mastermind, following an appearance on MonoNeon’s album, Quilted, as well as his 2025 single “God Reason” and 2026’s “Bottom Feeder.”

“Tha Dumb Stuff” is available digitally now on Bandcamp, Amazon Music, and more.
