Remembering Jennifer Finch: L7 Live at The Current
We were saddened to learn of the passing of L7 bassist Jennifer Finch, who died on July 18th at the age of 59.
Finch was a force. Her playing, energy, and presence were a huge part of L7’s sound and she inspired generations of bass players along the way. Today, we’re remembering her with this fantastic footage from L7’s 2018 visit to The Current’s studio. The full session is only 11 minutes long, but the band packs three songs into that time with “One More Thing,” “Pretend We’re Dead,” and “Dispatch from Mar a Lago.”
Finch is playing a Gibson SG Bass here, delivering the kind of powerful driving lines and raw energy that made her such a compelling player to watch. It is hard to think of a better way to remember Jennifer Finch than seeing her doing what she did best with L7.
