Bass of the Week: Ulrich BassDesign Weathered Blue 5-String
This week we’re checking out a real beauty by Ulrich BassDesign. This weathered blue five-string is built with a thermo-modified alder body and a six-piece maple and mahogany neck. While its unique body shape and color stand out, there are plenty of other details to catch.

Jon Thorne has launched a new record label and a new project. The bassist, also of Lamb, teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Martin Slattery to form The Strangest of Times. The group’s debut, “The Third Law of Motion” is out now, with more to come.

Phil Jones Bass has expanded its line of cabinets with the C2. The compact “shoebox-size” cab is rated at 200 watts and is fitted with two of the company’s smallest speakers.

Sad news to report: former 7Seconds bassist Josef Bansuelo has passed away from cancer. He was 63 years old. The news was confirmed by his former bandmate, Kevin Seconds, on Facebook.
