Last year, Christian McBride teamed up with the hi-res streaming service Qobuz to release “The Q Sessions”. Now, the EP has been released to all digital platforms to be more widely available.

Whether he’s in a duo with Edgar Meyer or leading his big band, Christian McBride always keeps good company. Now the bass icon has unveiled a set of tour dates with a brand new band.

I love seeing collaboration between bassists, especially with players of this caliber. Manou Gallo, aka the Queen of Afro Groove, recruited jazz icon Christian McBride to lay some foundation for her latest song, “Emotion.”

Episode 6 of the Sanborn Sessions featured an appearance by guest Christian McBride. They recently shared a standalone video from the session, where they perform “Señor Blues”. The song kicks off with an epic intro by McBride. And man, his tone!

Christian McBride has released a second live album from the legendary Village Vanguard, this time with his Inside Straight quintet. It’s a special moment for the group, as the band was originally formed for a residency at the venue.

For episode 6 of the Sanborn Sessions “Remote Session”, there’s an exciting guest. Christian McBride joins the David Sanborn and the band virtually to discuss music and perform “Please Send Me Someone To Love”.

Dan Wilson has released “Vessels of Wood and Earth”. The jazz guitarist performs five original compositions as well as covers of classics by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Ted Daffan, with Christian McBride and Marco Panascia on bass.

Paul Jackson’s passing on March 18th sent shockwaves through the music community. Now a staggering list of his musical compatriots will be remembering him in a live webinar hosted by the Berklee Bass Department.
