My fellow leftist, MonoNeon, dropped a new vid today appropriately titled, “Stank In New York.” Joined by legends Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Derrick Hodge, MonoNeon goes off, as expected.

We’ve been enjoying the studio videos from Scary Goldings featuring organist Larry Goldings for the past few months, and now the full album is available. “Scary Goldings IV” is a collection of ever-funky grooves with Goldings and an unreal band.

It seems rare to go to Youtube and not find a video with MonoNeon. From his solo efforts to his work with Scary Goldings, Scary Pockets, and Ghost-Note, the bassist is everywhere. MonoNeon makes this year’s Reader Favorite Bassists list at #10.

I cannot wait to spin the new Scary Goldings album. The band has dropped another video from “IV”, with John Scofield and MonoNeon and the band performing “Meter’s Running”.

We’ve been waiting all week for the premiere of this Ghost-Note video, from their Live Acoustic Sugarshack Session. In this one, they perform their original tune, “Weedie B. Good”, and as usual, MonoNeon lays down the groove. Funky, as always!
