We’re still reeling from the news that we’ve lost one of the legends, with the news of Paul Jackson’s passing yesterday. We spent the day spinning records and watching videos, including this epic clip of Mr. Jackson jamming with drummer Mike Clark.

Following the announcement of Lake Street Dive’s new album, the band is getting the videos out there. Here’s a live take on the opening track of “Obviously”. Bridget Kearney lays down the solid grooves while also providing amazing backing vocals.

Our friend Bruno Migliari sent us his latest video, and it’s a beautiful solo bass performance. In this clip, Bruno performs his arrangement of Caetano Veloso’s “Trem das Cores”. I love how he incorporates the harmonics and vocals in this one.

Bart Funk Bass has shared a great clip with Joe Dart isolated on the Vulfpeck tune, “Disco Ulysses”. We always love the isolated clips, as well as anything by Dart!

It’s always exciting to see a new video from Martin Miller and his band. In this clip, they’re joined by Kirk Fletcher for a cover of “Get Lucky”. Benni Jud handles the bass and vocals, and I’m pretty impressed with his vocal skills while masked.

Billy Sheehan is gearing up to do a new video series, and this one is on the gear itself. In this clip, Billy shares his thoughts on how to make a cheap bass play better.

No Treble reader Stefano India sent us this video of his last gig before the lockdown. And it is a great performance. In this clip, his trio performs their version of Weather Report’s “Black Market” (with a lot of bonus music thrown in).

I’m 100% sure none of us would turn down the opportunity to play with the legendary drummer Bernard Purdie. Thanks to technology, Diego Tarantino came up with a way to do that, laying down some funky lines in a play-along video.

Kevin Reginald Cooke sent us his latest video, which is an incredible duo cover he performed with vocalist Mery Bertòs. In this clip, they perform a beautiful cover of “Eye In The Sky” by The Alan Parsons Project.

King Crimson made an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s show in 1995, in support of their album “Thrak”. Here’s a great sounding clip from that show, with Tony Levin and the band performing “Dinosaur”.

Derek Frank sent us the fourth entry in his series of videos recorded live at Palomino Sound in Los Angeles, CA on November 16th, 2020. “Hunker Down” was written by Derek and man, it is funky.
