Drummer Yussef Dayes hit the studio with bassist Rocco Palladino and keyboardist Charlie Stacey and did this cool mashup of Stanley Clarke’s “Yesterday Princess” & Curren$y’s “Job”.

I took a trip down memory lane this morning by watching clips from James Taylor’s career. Here is one of my favorites, from a 1979 concert. Leland Sklar performs his wizardry on this version of “How Sweet It Is.”

Jazz|Green just shared the complete performance of Marcus Miller and his band at Estival Jazz Lugano 2019. The set includes tunes from Marcus’s latest album, “Laid Black,” and more.

Back in May, the awesome people at Studio Jams published this video tribute to the late, great Joe Osborn, from the Lest We Forget 2018 video special. The video starts with a discussion of Joe before the band dives into “Memphis.”

Back in 2016, Lake Street Dive visited NPR to record a Tiny Desk Concert, in support of their album, “Side Pony.” I love the different feel of the music in this setting!

Meshell Ndegeocello made an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman back in 1996 in support of her album, “Peace Beyond Passion.” Great song and performance by the one and only Meshell!

Guitarist Chandresh Kudwa’s “Free Spirit” is a pretty amazing instrumental rock record, which features bassist Mohini Dey and drummer Gino Banks. “Disco Chicken”, the album’s second track, is a fun ride.

No Treble reader Chris Attwell sent me a few videos by his band, ACT, and I’m really digging their sound. In this clip, the band is joined by Robbie Goodwin on violin, for the tune, “Bloom.”

I dig the sound of the Valeriy Stepanov Fusion Project. This extended video offers up some stellar, funky music and tunes from a live performance of the band, which includes bassist Albert Stepanov.

Our friend Dwane Woodard shared something on our Facebook Group earlier today, and it was something I completely missed – apparently for the last 10 years or so. Check out Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo playing upright bass with Nickel Creek.

David Pastorius is currently touring with Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy, filling in for Simon Fitzpatrick. This fan-shot clip by Larry Rulz III was great to see. Here’s the band performing “Hoedown.” David rips it up during his solo!

Our friends at Bass the World shared this one a while back, with the title “FUNKY BASS PLAYER.” Philippe Gonnand grooves hard with the band on his tune, “Réglons nos comptes.” Funky indeed!
