We’re super excited there’s a new House of Waters album out. “When I Play” is the third track on “Rising,” and it features a beautiful solo by Moto Fukushima.

The Markbass booth was a hot spot for great bass performances at the 2019 NAMM Show. In this clip, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona and Hadrien Feraud take the stage to jam and trade solos.

David Pastorius sent us this video of his band Local 518 performing “The Chase” in the studio. The tune appeared on David’s first album and the re-recording will be part of his next one, Radio Gold, which drops on March 15th.

I love it when Stuart Clayton posts one of his “Giants of Bass” videos. He named this one “Who Dunnit?” which focuses on the style of Duck Dunn.

Lawson Kennard sent us this incredible video featuring the trio of Adam Blackstone, Wayne Moore and Thaddeus Tribbett performing a tribute to Derrick Hodge. While the performance is fantastic, I really enjoyed hearing Derrick’s story and influences at the end of the clip.

Cory Wong is back with a new video, and we’re once again digging the sound. In this performance of “Simon,” Wong is once again joined by Kevin MacIntire on bass. I love the unison lines on this one, and the shirt offers a cool background too.

The band known as the Blues Beatles (with Bruno Falcão on bass) has been super popular around here. Turns out the guys behind that band also have another: Alabama Johnny. Here’s their performance of “Please Don’t Waste My Time.”

Bass technique has really evolved from the early days of the instrument, and Nathan Navarro demonstrates that in this incredible two-minute solo. From fingerstyle to double thumbing to harmonics, the bassist absolutely tears it up while utilizing the whole range of his instrument.

Philipp Rehm’s manager sent us several recent videos by Philipp Rehm, and this one really impressed us. Here’s the intro to Philipp’s aptly named tune, “Bass Bubblin,” performed live.

The Main Squeeze is back with another funky tune they recorded live at the SqueezeHouse. Once again, Rob Walker lays down the groovy bass behind the band.

Today we’re premiering this new video of Reflect//Refine’s Colby Richardson playing through their latest single, “No Soul”. The bassist dishes out huge tone, switching between fingerstyle and a more percussive slap to vary textures.

Tal Wilkenfeld has released another video featuring music from her upcoming album, “Love Remains,” which is set to drop on March 15th. This live performance of “Killing Me” was filmed at The Who’s ‘The Who Hits 50!’ tour stop at TD Garden in Boston, MA in 2016.
