Our friend Bryan Ladd shared this epic video the other day, and it is quite the jam. The lineup includes Oz Noy, Roy Kariok, Ruslan Sirota, Asher Fedi, and Bryan.

The Gospel Chops series always delivers the goods, and this clip from Bass Sessionz, Vol. 3 is just more proof. The clip features Justin Raines, Daric Bennett, Kenneth “Kaybass” Diggs, and Alan “Snoop” Evans throwing down over a shout, trading solos and bass lines.

The groove machine known as Mike Zabrin’s Funktastic has returned with a video for their new single, “My O My,” and it’s a killer. After kicking off with a New Orleans-inspired beat, the song drops into a slower, sultry groove with vocals, only to return to the upbeat stroll.

Linda Ronstadt released “Mad Love” thirty-nine years ago, which coincided with a live concert special for HBO. Here, the band performs the smash hit “You’re No Good.” Bob Glaub’s buttery P-bass groove sits right in the pocket, and he even takes a tasty solo.

We saw a lot of great performances at this year’s NAMM show. We missed this one, but thankfully there’s a video to share. In this clip, Mohini Dey wows the crowd with a live performance at the SIT Strings booth.

I was elated to hear that Consider the Source has a new album coming out this year, and even more excited to see this first single. “You Are Literally A Metaphor” is due out on March 1st, and if “Enemies of MagicK” is any indication, it’s going to be epic.

Here’s a great performance that took place in 2018 with Bill Cantos and other LA-based musicians performing “Drown in My Own Tears.” This one includes two bassists: Abraham Laboriel and Pee Wee Hill.

Craig Butterfield has teamed up with the Boomtown Waifs to form the Boomtown Trio. “Darkness Prowling” hearkens back to old fiddle tunes with blazing unison lines by Kristen Harris and Butterfield.

We caught 8-year-old bass prodigy Áron Hodek at the NAMM show this year and we were blown away. During a performance at the Markbass booth, Richard Bona invited Áron on stage for a jam.

We were thrilled to see this new video by one of our favorite bands, House of Waters. In this clip, they perform “Kite,” from their upcoming album, “Rising.” Once again, the trio of Max ZT, Moto Fukushima, and Ignacio Rivas-Bixio offer up an incredible sound.

When I was at the Marleaux booth at the NAMM Show yesterday, Ariane Cap told me about a cool video Marleaux artists put together. Each musician got a drum track and was asked to play 8 bars each. The result is pretty incredible.
