Recorded on October 10, 2023, here’s Caroline Polachek’s Tiny Desk Concert performance. The band, specifically bassist Maya Laner and Russell Holzman, really got me moving.

It’s always exciting to see a new video by Kinga Glyk pop up. It’s even more exciting to watch. In this one, Kinga creates a beautiful bass interpretation of “Remember Me” from the Pixar movie, “Coco.”

While this video quality isn’t the best, it sure is a joy to watch. Ellen Alaverdyan recently took the stage with a band to play a tune by her favorite band.

The Immediate Family is giving us a taste of their upcoming album, “Skin in the Game,” which drops on February 16, 2024. Here’s “Whole Lotta Rock and Roll.”

It’s always a good day when a new Cory Wong drops, and this performance of “Team Sports” at Montreux Jazz Festival is killer. Yohannes Tona holds down some rock solid low end, and we need to give props to drummer Petar Janjic, too.

When I was 14, my dad gave me a long list of bass players to listen and learn from. Mark King was one of the first names on the list. Still as funky as ever, King gives us an incredibly melodic slap solo on the classic tune “Love Games.”
